What Christmas Looked Like This Year!

Our humble Christmas wreath, complete with lights and favorite ornaments. This was instead of a tree this year because of space restrictions.
Santa Dog-- it took about 3-4 days of getting the dog trained not to try and pull off the hat before we could get this picture. Of course there is a treat off camera that he was performing for. I'm pretty sure the dog can't wait for us to have a baby so we have someone else to torment!Moose with his favorite gift! Grandpa John brought it for him and it kept him occupied long enough for us to open gifts without interruption. As always the marathon week of Dad's b-day, Christmas Eve, Christmas and then Jessica's birthday all in a row has left us all a little tired. We are grateful to have been able to spend time with all our family and truly felt the love that accompanies this great time of year.

How blessed we are to celebrate the birth of our Savior and the blessings of family.

Thanksgiving

Ya, I know this is pretty late... no excuses. It was pretty laid back for Thanksgiving, with both families in town it can be difficult to get any down time on holidays. But, we were able to have dinner with Adam's family and then dessert at my brother's with my extended family. All-in-all it was a nice relaxing day. Highlights of the day were sleeping in and having an impromptu thankfest in my pj's with the Adam and the dog, seeing family, and this great clip of the interaction between my 10 month old nephew and my sometimes ill-behaved dog.
Luckily Moose was being pretty obedient that day and he is really learning how to be more gentle and cautious around kids!

Adventure!-- warning, lots of pictures

We're always looking for new places to take the dog so a couple of weekends ago we decided to go down to the small wildlife reserve park that is just a mile or so down the road from our house. They have some neat little paths leading all around the place, quite a few bike trails as well. We of course promptly found the muddiest and most difficult parts of the trail to follow. Which made the dog even happier!
The two men in my life!

(Adam didn't want me to post this picture because he thinks he looks goofy, but the dog is so freaking adorable that I had to put it up.)

Moose somehow had enough energy to run around and chase a squirrel in the backyard when we came home but then promptly passed out-- A tired dog is a happy dog!
